I Didn’t Know What This Was
At first, it didn’t seem important.
That’s the strange thing about moments that end up changing you—they rarely announce themselves. They arrive quietly, disguised as something ordinary, something easy to ignore.
I noticed it one morning and thought nothing of it.
I didn’t know what it was.
And I didn’t know how much that not-knowing would matter.

## The First Time I Saw It
It was small. Subtle. Easy to miss.
I caught sight of it while going through my normal routine—brushing my teeth, half-awake, already thinking about the day ahead. Something was different. Not dramatic. Just… unfamiliar.
I leaned closer to the mirror.
Still couldn’t place it.
It wasn’t painful. It wasn’t loud. It wasn’t demanding attention. And because of that, my brain did what it always does in those moments—it minimized.
*Probably nothing.*
*I’ll check later.*
*I’m just tired.*
I moved on.
